Erbil Hosts Draw for Women’s MiniFootball World Cup .. Exciting Arab Clashes
Yesterday, Friday afternoon, the Ministry of Culture and Youth Hall in Erbil hosted the draw for the Women’s MiniFootball World Cup “Erbil 2025.” The ceremony was attended by officials and prominent sports leaders, led by the President of the International MiniFootball Federation (IMF), Dr. Mohammed Al-Dosari; the Deputy Minister of Culture and Youth in the Kurdistan Region, Arian Salahuddin; and the Director General of Sports in the Region, Sardar Ismail. Representatives of the participating teams and tournament guests were also present. The draw ceremony was held in a festive atmosphere, reflecting the Kurdistan Region’s readiness to host this global event, which is being held for the first time in Iraq. The draw will feature elite teams from various continents, with significant governmental and sports support from the Kurdistan Region. Draw Results The draw placed the host team, Iraq, in Group A alongside Switzerland, Lebanon, Kazakhstan, Jordan, and Pakistan. The second group includes Tunisia, Haiti, Uganda, Egypt, and Chinese Taipei. The tournament is expected to kick off next month, with strong Arab confrontations from the group stage, most notably the match between Iraq, Lebanon, and Jordan in Group A, and the match between Tunisia and Egypt in Group B. This will heighten the competition and give the tournament a special character that combines excitement and football fun.
