Riyadh — Dr. Mohammed Al-Dosari, President of the International Minifootball Federation (IMF), met with Sudan’s Minister of Sports, H.E. Professor Ahmed Adam Ahmed Mohammed, in Riyadh. The meeting took place at the headquarters of the Sudanese delegations participating in the Islamic Solidarity Games hosted by the city of Riyadh, with senior officials from the Sudanese Ministry of Sports in attendance.
The discussions focused on mechanisms to develop and support minifootball in Sudan following its official recognition by the Sudanese Ministry of Sports under the leadership of Mr. Al-Waleed Al-Tijani. Dr. Al-Dosari welcomed the Minister to his “second home,” emphasizing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s steadfast support for sports and athletes, and its role as a hub for Arab and Islamic unity under the leadership of HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Minister of Sports, who continues to champion Arab and Islamic sporting collaboration.
During the meeting, Dr. Al-Dosari presented an overview of the IMF’s mission and international strategy to expand and develop the sport under Arab leadership. The federation expressed its full readiness to support Sudan’s minifootball program through referee qualification, coach development, and technical training.
In a significant gesture, the IMF announced the exemption of Sudan from all fees and financial requirements, acknowledging the challenging circumstances the country is currently facing and reaffirming its commitment to supporting Sudan as a priority.
The Sudanese Minister of Sports extended his sincere appreciation to Dr. Al-Dosari for his continued efforts, his support for Sudan, and his genuine goodwill toward the Sudanese people, who are passionate followers of football.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to enhance cooperation between the Saudi and Sudanese minifootball federations, including the signing of a partnership that will facilitate the exchange of expertise and knowledge to elevate this emerging and promising sport. This step aligns with the recommendations of the First Arab Minifootball Forum, held in Riyadh last February under the supervision of the Saudi Ministry of Sports, with participation from 20 Arab nations and three partner countries.
The visit ended with a ceremonial exchange of gifts and the taking of commemorative photos to mark the occasion.
