Participating national teams have begun arriving in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, to prepare for the kickoff of the 2025 Women’s Minifootball World Cup, which officially opens tomorrow, Wednesday, at Cihan University Stadium.
Delegations from Egypt, Lebanon, and Jordan landed earlier today, welcomed with official receptions and well-organized logistics. The Brazilian squad, one of the tournament’s most anticipated teams, is expected to arrive this evening. Accommodation and training facilities have been fully secured to provide optimal conditions for all participants ahead of the opening whistle.
Teams are holding light training sessions to adapt to the pitch and local climate, while anticipation builds among players, coaching staff, and supporters eager to see strong performances on the global stage.
The arrival process will conclude in time for the official opening ceremony, which is expected to draw significant official and public attendance, marking the start of a special edition of the tournament under the theme: “Erbil… The Home of Peace.”
