Lebanese President Joseph Aoun Welcomes International Minifootball Federation Delegation
His Excellency President Joseph Aoun, President of the Lebanese Republic, received today at the Presidential Palace the President of the International Minifootball Federation (IMF), Dr. Mohammed Al-Dosari, and his accompanying delegation.
President Aoun warmly welcomed the IMF delegation to Lebanon, expressing his appreciation for the Federation’s global efforts in promoting and developing minifootball as an international sport.
He emphasized his pride in the fact that the Federation’s leadership is Arab, describing it as “a source of honor and a responsibility that deserves our collective support.”
The meeting also touched on Lebanon’s remarkable performance in recent international minifootball competitions, most notably the Lebanese women’s team achieving third place worldwide at the Women’s Minifootball World Cup held in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq last September.
Both parties discussed Lebanon’s potential to host an international event under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic, in collaboration with the International Minifootball Federation.
Dr. Al-Dosari reaffirmed his confidence in Lebanon’s capabilities, stating that: “With its talent, expertise, and government support, Lebanon has all the elements needed to host an exceptional event that will make the entire Arab world proud.”
The meeting concluded with the presentation of an official briefing file on the IMF’s global activities and a commemorative shield offered to His Excellency the President as a token of appreciation.
Later the same day, Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Mr. Nabih Berri, welcomed the IMF delegation headed by Dr. Mohammed Al-Dosari, in the presence of IMF Secretary-General Hussein Al-Asam, Director of International Relations Khaled Al-Hadid, Lebanese Federation President Ahmad Danish, and Palestinian Federation President Hossam Al-Hussein.
Speaker Berri praised the visit as “a positive and meaningful gesture that highlights the unifying power of sports and its role in promoting peace and strengthening international relations.”
He commended the Arab solidarity reflected through the leadership of Dr. Al-Dosari from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, acknowledging “Saudi Arabia’s outstanding role in unifying Arab efforts and supporting the growth of sports diplomacy.”
Mr. Berri also affirmed Lebanon’s readiness and full capacity to host international sports events, particularly in minifootball, which has rapidly gained popularity across the nation.
He applauded the Lebanese Minifootball Federation’s ongoing efforts in expanding the game and nurturing young talents across all regions of Lebanon.
The meeting concluded with group photographs commemorating this historic occasion, symbolizing a shared Arab vision for advancing sports, unity, and peace.
